Every month Educational Technology and Mobile Learning features a short list of the best iPad apps for students. We pick these apps from the different review lists we did before and our selection is based on the app productivity, its rating, popularity and whether or not it conforms to our evaluation criteria or not. We are being very strict in our selections because the apps market is full of junk and if you don't try an app and attest to its usability then chances are you might end up recommending junk to readers.

There are probably hundreds of different ways to use Facebook in your classroom. We've written about a number of them, and we know that a lot of educators out there are using the tool for everything from classroom projects to keeping in touch with parents.

Getting Smart is acknowledging people and organizations making a difference with a series of back to school top 10 lists. During August we will run about 40 'best of' lists, not in order, not exhaustive, just people we appreciate.
