#12 bzist3 on 29 Jan 12The article WebAIM: Motor Disabilities that was posted by Tina was very interesting to me. I am very knowledgeable about various illnesses and disorders but it really did open my eyes to just HOW many there are and how much a person can miss out in life without some sort of technological assistance. I am very reliant on my mouse and it scares me to think about not being able to use it. Yes, I know some shortcuts and am trying to keep learning more. I also remember how difficult it was for me to first learn how to use one. My hand could not control it at first because it was so sensitive. I get frustrated when my first graders can't use a mouse too well at the beginning of the year and every once in a while I have to be reminded how hard it was for me to learn it!

#15 bzist3 on 30 Jan 12@Maria, I'm glad you brought up the Adam Seldow example about the apples! It was a great way to explain contextual understanding and how there can be MISunderstanding, even without anyone realizing the problem! Thank you for bringing that up again.
