Do you have an affinity for synthesizers? Synthgear has an incredible video display of vintage synthesizers that will make you blow your top. Each synth is given it's own solo so you can actually see the sounds that correspond with each synth. Coool... I know it's cheating but i think imma try and grab the software versions of my favorite.

The iPK25 is complete with a mixer, 8 voice polyphany for drum and synth and here's the kicker, can be used as a stand alone midi controller for the software of your choice. .
