Warning to readers: This is a meta-review targeted mostly at YOU! Especially those who HAVE watched a few episodes and DID like it a lot. In case you haven't seen a single episode, just pretend this anime is described by others as WOAH AWESOME and now you are reading a second opinion. A negative one that is. Do not view this text as an attack to your integrity or something because the show itself is an attack to your common sense and feelings and I am just counterattacking it by using the same method. This is another case of a show trying to mask its shallowness with a serious premise and once again hundreds of people are biting the lure. Busyness as usual. Let me start with some cold-hearted facts that many of you readers haven't realized or don't want to admit to, probably because you don't like the idea of your escapism shows regarding reality to be so damn fake. - "Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai" (made by the same studio) is NOT an awesome serious show about otakus being accepted as normal people by the non-otakus. It is fan catering nonsense bordering incest and fascination over porn games. - "Yosuga no Sora" is NOT an awesome serious show about true brother/sister love. It is fan catering nonsense which go as far as resetting the story every few episodes as means to have the lead male having sex with everybody. NOT just his sister. - "Bakuman" is NOT an awesome show about how to become a great mangaka. It is fan catering nonsense about a guy who has everything going rosy in his life and even getting a girlfriend out of someone who he never spoke to in his all life because DESTINY DEMANDS IT. Plus, it is patting at Jump Shounen fans too obviously. In the same way, "Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai" is NOT a show about making friends. Seriously, where the hell do you see the educational aspect in this show? It is fan catering nonsense about some anti-social people gathering in a room and playing porn games all day long, while

「るろうに剣心」 Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Arc (Part 1) - Solamon Energy Otakus - 0 views

Kyoto Arc follows the adventures of Himura Kenshin with his comrades Yahiko, Sanosuke and Kaoru, along with their new-found allies, the Oniwaban group.  The main antagonist is the former successor of Kenshin as the Imperialists' hitokiri, Shishio, who vows to create chaos once again in Japan because he was not able to actively take part in the Bakumatsu. Okubo, the only living founder of the Meiji Restoration and now the head of the Interior Affairs, has been assassinated by Shishio's subordinate, the young prodigy Soujiro. Okubo has previously confronted both Saito, a former Shinsengumi, and Kenshin, asking for their help in vanquishing Kenshin's kohai, Shishio, who plans to wreak havoc in the newly-established government which he sees as a fraud. But before Kenshin even get a chance to give his answer to Okubo, the latter was killed. This event prompted Kenshin to go to Kyoto and put Shishio in his place, noting that he cannot stay on the sidelines anymore with all the bad developments happening in the country.

Otaku News : Is KyuuCON a Scam? - 1 views

After posting the press release from KyuuCon yesterday, it's been brought to our attention by various members of UK anime fandom that there is something fishy about KyuuCON. Firstly it appears that the venue mentioned the Plymouth Pavillions has not heard of KyuuCON or the organisers in question. The second major alarm bell is where the payments are going, into a personal bank account and not a building society account/non-profit account in the conventions name. What's also interesting is their sudden change of heart, and the way they've just moved everything back a year. Plus this thread brought to our attention at the AyaCon Forum. At this current moment in time, based on what we have heard, we believe that KyuuCON is either very poorly organised or a cash grabbing scam, either way, we suggest you avoid KyuuCON for now. Full Story Normally when people run anime conventions they've had previous experience in fandom, running anime clubs or sci-fi/fantasy clubs and similar events. At the very least people who want to run a convention would have experience as a gopher at a convention to see what is involved. The people running KyuuCON don't seem to have any of this, yet they appear to be attempting to run an anime convnetion larger than anything else in the UK before. So for your general amusement we suggest you visit KyuuCON's forum and read this thread and at least one LiveJournal Posting. All current evidence points to another estranged anime fan with delusions of grandeur, we hope this is not the case since the UK could always do with another anime convention, after all the more the merrier.

Character Profile: Reborn 家庭教師ヒットマン - 0 views

  •
Reborn (りボーン) is considered to be the strongest hitman in the world but was trapped in the body of a 2-year old because of a curse. His current mission is to train the tenth successor of the Vongola Family, Tsunayoshi Sawada to become a suitable boss. In his adult form, he usually used to greet people with "Chaos" but when he turned into a kid, all his voice could muster is "Ciaossu" (a play on the Italian greeting of "Ciao" and the Japanese greeting of "Ossu"). He sports a black fedora and an all-black suit both in his infant and adult form. Reborn is constantly shown with his shapeshifting pet chameleon named Leon, usually perched on the brim of his hat. He is usually shown wearing ridiculous costumes depending on the situation and is, apparently, a celebrity at Mafia Land. During the Future Arc, Reborn was the first one to be transported ten years into the Future though it's still unclear he got to the Vongola Headquarters. Due to the anti Tri-ni-set radiation in the atmosphere that severely affects the Arcobaleno, he has to wear a special suit. Reborn is the strongest of the seven Arcobaleno (the seven strongest individuals in their time who was cursed and physically changed into babies), possessing the Sun Arcobaleno pacifier where their energy is stored (dying-will flames). During a flashback, Reborn was shown as having resentment towards the curse but following some time, he came to accept his fate and asked Dr. Shamal to remove his old self. As an Arcobaleno, he is usually calm in any situation or fights, serving as Tsuna's mentor when the latter runs out of ideas. However, he admitted to losing his patience when his friend, Vongola IX Timoteo, was kidnapped and almost got killed in a fight during the Varia Arc. Reborn rarely engages in direct fighting, not wanting to meddle with the development of his student but sometimes he takes his mentoring role seriously. And whenever he did so, he could be an incredibly

Character Profile: Hisoka - 1 views

Hisoka (ヒソカ) is a character from the popular anime/manga series Hunter x Hunter by Yoshihiro Togashi. His generally dark character is depicted as a playful, narcissistic and deceitful magician. (Trivia: In the manga, his sentences would normally end with a suit symbol.) Hisoka became interested in the circumstances of the four main characters after meeting them on the Hunter Exam, though it might only be because he saw them as opponents with a lot of potential. Because of his veiled hostility and affinity for murder, he was quickly labeled as the series' strong antagonist. However he can also be seen acting as a comrade to the main characters when he thinks it will benefit him. Hisoka has appeared on the manga/anime early on - it was during the first part of the 287th Hunter Exam, where the four main characters (Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio) first met each other. He was introduced by a fellow examinee as a dangerous person for he has failed the previous Hunter Exam when he killed an examiner on a whim. On the last part of the Hunter Exam, Hisoka apparently admitted that he is a member of the infamous group Genei Ryodan - the criminals responsible for annihilating Kurapika's tribe. Though it was later revealed that he's not a true member; he was just going along with the group because he's waiting for an opportunity to challenge the group's leader, Chrollo, into a duel whom he deems worthy to be an opponent. However, Kurapika managed to seal Chrollo's nen power in an encounter, prompting Hisoka to lose his enthusiasm. Hisoka appears to be on friendly terms with Illumi, the older brother of Killua, as they are often seen helping each other. The circumstances of how they came to be friends was left out though. It is quite normal for him to look deadly one moment and then go all hilarious the next. A very unpredictable character, Hisoka has earned his dark reputation of being a killing machine who takes delight in battles and ki
