There is one line that Sun Tzu wrote in his book "The Art Of War" in the 6th Century B.C.  can get your head nodding as if "Man oh man, the dead man has always been right!"  Go to http://classics.mit.edu/Tzu/artwar.html and go down to the section "Waging War" and you can see on line number six writes "There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare. "  This is sounding very much like our very situation with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our world is not the same as the world that our parents and their parents lived in.  The world of today is all about endless energy consumption and the more the better.  China is ever increasing their crude oil purchases as they are moving at the speed of light towards modernization.  China is trying to catch up with the United States using decade for what the United States had took a century to do so.
