Marketing your blog on Twitter | Janet Fouts - 0 views

Marketing your blog on Twitter Thu, May 7, 2009Social Media Tips and Tricks Marketing your blog on Twitter is easy right? You just post a link to it and the Tweeple come running to read it. Maybe, and maybe not. There's a lot more to it than that. First and foremost who are you talking to? Are the people in your Twitter network interested in the topic? If you're going outside of your Twitter networks area of interest it's much less likely to be seen. Look for somebody on Twitter who is focused in that area and Tweet it to them, ask their opinion or ask for a re-tweet so you can be seen in their network. About the title You want it to be short and to the point for a couple of reasons. Search engines love keywords and if your title is full of off topic words it's not going to do you any favors. Your title needs to capture attention on Twitter and still leave room for people to re-tweet it to their own networks on Twitter too. For some great tips on how to write a title that will get you noticed, read copyblogger's post. Timing

Twitter manners- how to write good tweets and be a good twittizen | Janet Fouts - 0 views

Twitter manners- how to write good tweets and be a good twittizen Sat, May 2, 2009Social Media Tips and Tricks Like any community there are a lot of un-written laws to how you tweet on Twitter. Most of it is just plain common courtesy and some of it is specific to the platform. What I'm posting here in no particular order are the ones I try to remember and I encourage you to add your own for us all to learn from. Fill out your profile and upload a picture. Before you start Tweeting let people know who they're listening to. When someone discovers your carefully written and deeply valuable first Tweets, they're going to come to our profile to learn more and decide if they want to follow you. If you've got the default icon and no info they may wait until later. There is no later. They'll forget you. Don't follow a bizillion people right off the bat. Choose your Twitter friends carefully for the value they add to you and your network. You're looking to build relationships, not notches in your cyber bedpost.

April 28, 2009 Seth's Blog: The collectible totem Image byDavid Sifry via CrunchBase "The collectible totem I've been a huge fan of Hugh MacLeod since he first showed up on the web a few years ago. Hugh is a provocateur, a brilliant marketer and a nice guy. He's also a great cartoonist. Hugh's images, combined with his insightful promiscuous licensing policy (want to use this cartoon? Sure!) propelled his blog to the top of the charts and led to a book deal. His newest project, though, is the point of this post.

April 23, 2009 louisgray.com: Google Reader Limits Your RSS Article Spam Potential Image via CrunchBase " The Pruneing of Google Reader !" " As Google Reader is my main jumping off point to gather all the news of the day, it's no secret the RSS reader also plays a major role in how I help distribute the news, be it through hitting share to add items to my link blog, or by e-mailing articles out to others. In October I mentioned how e-mailing RSS pieces can help to evangelize the service, and I've continued to make it something I do, for friends or for colleagues. But of late, I've found more restrictions being added that make it seem people have maliciously mass distributed articles out of Reader, so more safeguards have been added to slow me down."  Louis Gray WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, 2009 Share and Enjoy:

Acumen Fund - 0 views

The Blue Sweater by Jacqueline Novogratz is a Book I just finished reading- I was sent a review copy-It really defines Bitter Sweet Bittersweet refers to a combination of the standard tastes of sweetness and bitterness, and is often used as a metaphor for experiences which have elements of both happiness and sadness.  It is another addition to the never ending Saga of Our Africa-Poverty-Murder-Sadness-it is beautifully written by a Great Lady with A very Clear Conscience-I say our Africa since if we live on the Mortal Coil we own the complete coil not just a segment-Seth Godin who first discussed the Fund on Squidoo lives on the total coil-and Condition-Mortal coil is a poetic term that means the troubles of daily life and the strife and suffering of the world. It is used in the sense of a burden to be carried or abandoned, most famously in the phrase "shuffle[d] off this mortal coil" from Shakespeare's Hamlet.   I will pass my copy If you live in Royal Oak Michigan E Mail me at marshal.m1@gmail.com I will send you my copy or drop it off to you-then you can read and pass it on-or go to amazon and you can buy one-

YouTube - Primo Levi: Back to Auschwitz Part 1 - 0 views

Lest We Forget- Views on Nazism and antisemitism What drove Levi to write If This Is a Man was a desire to bear witness to the horrors of the Nazis' attempt to exterminate the Jewish people. He read many accounts of witnesses and survivors and attended meetings of survivors, becoming in the end a symbolic figure for anti-fascists in Italy. Levi visited over 130 schools to talk about his experiences in Auschwitz. He was shocked by revisionist attitudes that tried to rewrite the history of the camps as less horrific, what is now referred to as Holocaust denial. His view was that the Nazi death camps and the attempted annihilation of the Jews was a horror unique in history because the aim was the complete destruction of a race by one that saw itself as superior; it was highly organized and mechanized; it entailed the degradation of Jews even to the point of using their ashes as materials for paths. Primo Levi and Italian Jew wrote the Periodic Table -Primo Michele Levi (31 July 1919-11 April 1987) was a Jewish-Italian chemist, Holocaust survivor and author of memoirs, short stories, poems, essays and novels. He is best known for his work on the Holocaust, and in particular his account of the year he spent as a prisoner in Auschwitz, the death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland. If This Is a Man (published in the United States as Survival in Auschwitz) has been described as one of the most important works of the

It takes very bright people to use the principals of semantics, general semantics, and mathematics and create a Likaholix- I am sure that this site will be the best of 2009 since it has more to offer than most in the social media and micro-blogging category- First and foremost is has ease of use and guides you ,to add what you like to very well chosen categories  without wandering through useless applications and semantic jazz-I found Louis Gray Steve Rubel and Andrew Badera on the site it will be interesting  to see what they contribute-Current people on the site are really adding great data food gadgets books and more-It has a very simple bookmarking tool for Fire Fox and inside are great search applications which when you enter a URL, it gives you interesting suggestions as to media to add.* Note this is a review as a user not a paid plug- As a User I can plug what I LIKE and add it to Likaholix!
