Let me just say it. I hate diabetes. I hate it. Oh, I know that it can be managed (I do) and that you can live a good, long life (I am -- 27 years with Type 1 diabetes). But still, I hate it.

The world is facing an "unrelenting march" of diabetes which now affects nearly one in 11 adults, the World Health Organization (WHO) says. In a major report it warned cases had nearly quadrupled to 422 million in 2014 from 108 million in 1980.

La celebración en Madrid de la VIII edición del Congreso Nacional de Atención Sanitaria al Paciente Crónico ha contado con la participación de Emminens, compañía del laboratorio farmacéutico Roche Diabetes Care Spain, que indicó que la gestión integral del paciente diabético "puede disminuir hasta un 50 por ciento los costes indirectos de la enfermedad".
