The major source of this site is the "Social Psychology Network," which sponsors the website. However, the site also has many links to other academic sources from universities and colleges.

This site could be used by teachers as a baseline, to discover their own prejudices and learn hwo to avoid them BEFORE teaching their class. There are many different "quizzes" on the site which claim to measure your level of prejudice/knowledge of it. Then they offer links about how to deal with these issues in the classroom. This site is a good way for teachers to start thinking about these issues, and is a good resource of some of these issues come up in a classroom and he or she does not know how to deal with it.

This site is valuable because it gets teachers to consider the issue of pejudice in the classroom and offers them resources on dealing with this tricky issue. Because the site does not have lesson plans, per se, it could not be used for daily lessons in the class. However, the teacher could have the students look through the website and take some of the quizzes, and use this as a launching point for a discussion of these issues in his or her class. Therefore, this site could be an incredible valuable tool to teachers as a resource and as jumping-off point for a discussion on prejudice and other related issues.

The sources for this site are other teachers around the world who post their lesson plans. This is good, because it has plans from real teachers and real classrooms so they are very knowlegable in what they are doing.

However, one bad thing about the site sources is that primary sources are generally not included in the lesson plan, so you would have to find those on your own.

The problem with the lesson plans is that they are not listed in any particular order and are all large plans that take a long time to complete. As such, this site could be used to find a project that you want your class to do, but it could not be used on a regular basis because you won't always have time to do the long projects as listed here.

This site could be valuable for social studies teachers because it offers lesson plans written by teachers, covering a wide range of topics and suited for different couuntries. However, this diversity also means that not everything important is covered, and as such the site should only be used as an occasional supplement, not a basic source for your lesson plans.

WAY too much in the introduction and background information for the teacher. Teachers should already have a general knowledge of these things, all the details are not necessary.

Good list of documents, covering the south, Frederick Douglas and Lincoln.

I don't particularly like the idea of having the students write an innaugural address as if they are President Lincoln, mainly because the scope seems too narrow for me. Rather than focusing on what it was like to be Lincoln, the lesson should focus on what is going on in the country. Nevertheless, I appreciate the lesson plan's attempts to have students interact with the history be taught.

Great introduction and topic. Most traditional texts I have heard leave out the repeated attempts of the Cherokees to assimilate. Very accurate information here.

Great list of primary sources. I would use these in my classroom. A good secondary source (like Howard Zinn's People's History) could also be used.

Great way to teach the material, divide students into groups and have them make make sense of the material. Depending upon the age/skill-level of the group, I may not give each person a role but rather just have them all contribute to answering the questions.

This section offers overviews of the Indian Ocean and the uses of it in different eras. This section is more helpful than the maps which, although visually appealing, are more confusing than helpful.

Offer a detailed 13-page bibliography of secondary sources used when creating this website. Seems very scholarly and accurate.

This section is the one most applicable to teaching as it offers actually full lesson plans, including a deeper description for the teacher of what the lesson plans hope to accomplish. They also plan out how you might use their information to make a one year or two year course with it. Very thorough and very helpful for world history teachers.

This site is NOT a list of primary or secondary sources but rather offers creative lesson plans, as well as the links to important materials for the plans, for teaching economics in a high school setting.

Fantastic links of materials in each lesson plan to use for the lesson.

This site is a valuable tool for teachers, especially those who don't feel very comfortable with economics but want to look at the practical implications of it with their students. I would definately use this site.

Overall, this site is very flexible and offers lots of resoures to teachers. However, some of the sources you find are someone suspect, so you have to keep your attenas up one searching. The best part of the site is the part where you can communicate with other teachers about ideas to use in your classroom.

You can select different time periods/themes to search through. The four most prominent sections are Civics, World History, U.S. History and Cultural Studies.

The problem with this site is that the links they provide are not often scholarly, and as such aren't as reliable as other sources may be.

This is the best part of the site, in my opinion. You can communicate and share ideas and resources with other educators around the country and the world. This is what I would most likely you the site for.
