This article can save a lot of time and stress for teachers lucky enough to have access to IPADS and IPOD Touches to use in their classrooms. For example, it recommends syncing all the IPADS or IPOD Touches to one computer. This way when you add content to the main computer's library, all the students get it too!
Thanks for clarifying that. I was under the impression I was going to find some "academic Facebook" out there, but after searching, I could not. I am also struggling with the analytic tool aspect. I have read up on them, and I see that YouTube has one, but I am not really understanding how to execute the analysis needed for the project. I am leaning toward using YouTube because I have some comfort level with it. I would be willing to try Facebook as well, buy I really have doubts about being able to complete the analysis given the information I have found on their analytic tools. Everyone please feel free to jump in and contribute anything related to Module 3!!
This video does not use the key words PLN or PLE, but it does introduce social networking and describe the application for a classroom. It lists pros and cons to allowing classroom students to use personal learning environments (social networking sites, wikis, etc.) It also talks about future development of social networking and the effect it will have on all of us.
This article was a blend of easy to understand background information about social media in education backed with research to support what was written. Case studies based on social media integration into higher learning were also interesting.
