Social media is everywhere these days, and has infiltrated into every single facet of our lives, whether we like it or not. We check Facebook on our smartphones, Skype with our relatives around the world on our laptops, and read our textbooks on our iPads.

One question I keep asking myself about the current state of education in the United States, or at least in Atlanta where I live, is why isn't social media taught more in school? We've written many articles about how it can enhance the whole education process and classroom environment, and we all know it's the future of communication, so why aren't children being taught about it?

Social media may have started out as a fun way to connect with friends, but it has evolved to become a powerful tool for education and business. Sites such as Facebook and Twitter and tools such as Skype are connecting students to learning opportunities in new and exciting ways.
