French Open: Nadal, Ferrer Advance Into Third Round
Rafael Nadal eased into the third round of the French Open with a straight-sets victory over Austrias Dominic Thiem.
The top seed dominated his 20-year-old opponent to a 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 win.
Thiem, 20, was the youngest player to reach the second round and he briefly troubled Nadal with his booming inside-out forehands but the champion eventually prevailed before applauding his opponent at the end.

His ball is so high he was able to hit strong he has completely everything to become a champion, Nadal said.
I think today I played a solid match, I knew that if I didnt I would be in trouble.
Nadal, who has won a record 8 titles at the Roland Garros, will continue the defence of his 2013 triumph against either Leonardo Mayer or Teymuraz Gabashvili in the next round.
Spains fifth seed David Ferrer eased into round three with a straight-sets victory over Simone Bolelli.
