  Foreign education provider (FEP's India) is a government initiative that allows foreign universities to establish an educational campus (colleges and universities) in India. Whilst this may be beneficial, there are many standards that would need to be met, including the need to form a company under the Companies Act, 1956 (now replaced by Companies Act 2013).

  
  

   

  
  

  Additional constraints include the requirement to maintain as asset of not less than Rs 25 Crores for each campus they establish. This would definitely be a hurdle for the public funded Institutions such as FE Colleges.   Although Indian academics agree that establishing links with UK Institutions would improve teaching and learning, they would really like UK lecturers and students to come to India, as opposed to the one-way movement of students to UK.
