Australia on Tuesday ruled out changing its policy and said it would not supply uranium to India, which is seeking fuel for its nuclear energy programme, a media report said.

Favouring a partnership with India in the energy sector, Australian Trade Minister Simon Crean on Tuesday said his country did not supply uranium to India under its policy of non-proliferation.

The two-day Nuclear Security Summit ended on Tuesday, with leaders from 47 nations signing off on a non-binding communique and an action plan that presses for collective global action to secure all vulnerable fissile materials such as highly enriched uranium and separated plutonium within four years.

India and Kazakhstan will soon finalise a civilian nuclear agreement, which will facilitate Indian investments in mining and supply of uranium from the central Asian nation, External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna said in New Delhi on Wednesday.
