In order to help the exporters to give them correct information, Delhi Exporters Association will open a "May I Help You Counter" at Inland Container Depot (ICD) Tughlakabad.

A major fire broke out in a container depot, near the Tughlaqabad railway station in Delhi early on Saturday, has proved to be worst tragedy in the history of Indian Exports, said Delhi Exporters Association in a press release today.

The goods worth crores of rupees that were destroyed in the fire were not insures. EXporters appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for compensation.

Tughlakabad port is an inland container depot in Delhi and has a common user facility with public authority. It is equipped with fixed installation and offers services for temporary storage and handling of import and export laden and empty container carried under custom transit. All activities related to clearance for in house consumption, warehousing and re-export takes place at this port.
