Tata Sons Ltd on Thursday moved the Supreme Court against the reinstatement of Cyrus Mistry as executive Chairman of the company. Last month, NCLAT restored Mistry as Tata Group's executive chairman, deeming his ouster from the company in October 2016 as an oppressive action taken by Tata.

Tata Sons and it's ex Chairman Mr. Cyrus Mistry is fighting to prove their point. Cyrus Mistry claim that Tata Sons investment or acquisition will lead to the write down of $18 bn which shocked the investor community and especially retail investors.

Tata Sons has appointed Ishaat Hussain as the Chairman of the group's hugely successful IT firm TCS in place of Cyrus Mistry, who was ousted last month.

Amid the controversy surrounding the replacement of Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry, Tata Steel Minerals Canada in cooperation with its parent companies has decided to invest C$125 million as equity and C$50 million as debt with Government of Quebec's investment entities, Resources Quebec (RQ) and investment Quebec (IQ) respectively.
