A first of its kind Track II discourse will follow the June 3 inaugural India-US strategic dialogue to push forward ideas emerging from the government-to-government conversation, according to a leading Indian business body.

India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, who arrived in the US on Monday, has met Gen (retd) Michael Flynn, Donald Trumps' NSA designate and is believed that they have discussions on a wide range of issues related to regional and global strategic and explored ways to enhance Indo-US relations.

Small, medium and large companies need to work in an inter-dependable way to enhance growth between Indo-US, said, Thomas Donohue, President, US Chamber of Commerce during his visit to India in New Delhi on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON: Strong economic relations between the United States and India can create employment opportunities in both the countries and strengthen their economies, a vision shared by both President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the White House has said. "The President believes that more effective cooperation between the two countries can improve the economy in both of our countries, create jobs and promote economic growth. And I know that Prime Minister Modi shares those goals," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters yesterday. He said Obama has found Modi to be an effective interlocutor and partner in pursuing those goals. "The President is pleased about the progress that we've made over the first seven and a half years of his presidency, and we're going to spend the remaining five months or so here trying to do all we can to advance it even further," he said.

Sugar is becoming not so sweet for retail consumers, with prices rising fast in the domestic market. CPI inflation on sugar has remained in double digits for 10 months in a row now. The expectation for Feb 2016 is also not any different. In the global scene, while the prices may have dropped marginally during the recent months, they still remain high compared to the previous year levels.
