The co-creators of the famous Million Dollar Arm contest, which took two unknown athletes from India into the baseball big league of the US, will now capitalise on the brand with a 'Million Dollar Bat' talent search.
Sports agent J.B. Bernstein and partner Ash Vasudevan, subjects of the box-office hit Disney film 'Million Dollar Arm' earlier this year, launched the new contest in Dubai this week to find US baseball hitters to compete for the chance to play cricket in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
IPL chief operating officer (COO) Sundar Raman welcomed the announcement, saying "anything that helps grow the game of cricket and bring new talent in is very welcome".
