2. Replace the electrode head First remove the protective cover of the electrode chamber, loosen the screws that fix the upper electrode, and take out the upper electrode. Then loosen the top wire holding the lower electrode and remove the lower electrode. The installation order of the new electrode is opposite to the action, and the gap between the two electrode tips is required to be 2.6 ± 0.2mm, which is symmetrical to the optical fiber. Under normal circumstances, the electrode does not need to be adjusted. During the replacement process, do not touch the electrode tip to prevent damage, and avoid dropping the electrode inside the machine. Calibration of the arc position is required after electrode replacement.
3. Care of the electrode for a long time, the tip of the electrode will produce deposits, making the discharge not smooth. At this time, a "hissing" sound will appear. At this time, the electrode needs to be cleaned. It is recommended to clean the electrodes regularly by performing electrode care of the fusion splicer.
4. The up and down driving range of the cleaning V-shaped fusion splicer in the centering direction is only tens of micrometers. A little foreign matter will cause the optical fiber image to deviate from the normal position, resulting in improper alignment. At this time, you need to clean the V-groove in time:
1) Lift the windshield of the fusion splicer.
2) Open the fiber indenter and holder clamp.
