Soon after Indian pharmaceutical major Cipla announced a major investment in its UK arm, company chairman Yusuf Hamied speaks about the British government’s efforts efforts to encourage research and development (R&D) in the pharmaceutical industry.
Speaking in reference to the company’s announcement in India of plans to invest £100 million in its British subsidiary alongside the UK government, Hamied urged the Indian government to also do more in the field.
“This is something we Indians can take a lesson from the British as to how the British government here is encouraging us to come and do research with the benefits that they are giving us.
