The ignition coil is mainly composed of iron core, winding, bake-lite cover, porcelain cup, etc.

    (1) The iron core is made of stacked silicon steel strips insulated from each other. The sheets are separated by an oxidized oil layer or a coated insulating group. The outer layer is covered with an insulating sleeve, which is used to enhance magnetic flux.

    (2) The major winding is layered on the outer layer of the major winding with enameled wire with a wire diameter of 0.5 to 1.0 mm to facilitate heat dissipation. The major winding is 230 to 370 turns. Several layers of insulating paper are also wrapped on the outside to enhance insulation. After the winding is wound, the mixture of paraffin and rosin is dipped in a vacuum to further strengthen the insulation. The role of the major winding is to use the current changes in the winding to achieve electromagnetic induction.

    (3) The secondary winding is wound with an enameled wire with a wire diameter of 0.06 ~ 0.10mm around the outside of the iron core insulation sleeve, about 11000 ~ 26000 turns. In order to strengthen the insulation and avoid mechanical damage, each layer of wire is separated by insulating paper, the outermost layer of insulating paper has more layers, or a cardboard sleeve. Its role is to generate mutual inductive electromotive force.

    (4) A steel sleeve for magnetic conduction is installed between themajory winding of the steel sleeve and the casing. The magnetic steel sheet is rolled into a cylindrical shape to form a part of the magnetic circuit, so that the iron core forms a semi-closed magnetic circuit to reduce magnetic leakage.

    (5) The filler is filled with bitumen or transformer oil to strengthen insulation and prevent moisture infiltration. When filled with transformer oil, the coil has good heat dissipation, low temperature rise, and good insulation. In recent years, gas insulation such as sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) or plastic molding insulation has also been used.

    (6) Additional resistance The external connection of the three-connected ignition wire column housing is equipped with an additional resistance. The two ends of the additional resistance are connected to the "+ switch" and "switch" terminals on the bakelite cover, and their function is to improve the ignition performance. There is no additional resistance between the ignition coil of the two terminals, and an additional resistance wire is connected between the ignition switch and the "+" terminal of the ignition coil.
