Malfunction caused by improper use of high temperature mechanical seal cooling water should not be more than 60 degrees higher than normal temperature. At present, most of the cooling water used in mechanical seals for pumps in oil refineries and chemical plants uses process circulating water. Industrial circulating water contains more impurities. After long-term recycling, dust accumulates, microorganisms grow, and calcium carbonate in water is prone to condensation at high temperatures Scale, causing the mechanical seal of the pump to malfunction.

    Cause Analysis

     1. The mechanical seal cooling water is fouled. The scale will cause the seal ring to become jammed, and the seal will lose its compensating ability, which will cause the pump mechanical seal to fail.

    2. Impurities in the water enter the seal face, causing the mechanical seal of the pump to fail.

    3. The mechanical seal of the bellows causes the cooling water to accumulate between the crests and troughs of the bellows, causing the bellows to lose its elasticity.

    4. The moving ring of the spring mechanical seal loses its elasticity due to scale jamming.

    Solution

     1. Improve water quality and change industrial circulating water to softened water.

    2. Use magnetized water to achieve the purpose of anti-scale and anti-corrosion.

    3. Increase the incoming and return channels of the mechanical seal cooling water.
