    In centrifugal pumps and reaction kettles, the seal between the rotating pump shaft and the stationary casing is simply referred to as a shaft sealing device. Currently, centrifugal pumps and reaction kettles are commonly used for packing and mechanical seals.

    Mechanical seals are widely used because of their advantages such as small leakage, long service life, low power loss, no need for frequent maintenance, and low environmental impact. The manufacture of mechanical seals is complicated and requires high precision. During operation, the inspection personnel are required to find problems in time and deal with them as soon as possible, so as to extend the service life of mechanical seals.

    Vibration, heat and smoke of mechanical seal

    1. The end pressure is larger

    Treatment measures:

    (1) Adjust the position of the moving ring base to reduce the specific pressure of the end surface;

    (2) Replace the mechanical seal spring to reduce the end surface specific pressure.

    2. Rough end face of dynamic and static ring

    Treatment measures: The dynamic and static rings are ground on the grinding platform to improve the end surface finish.

    3. Insufficient cooling and flushing

    Treatment measures: Frequently clear the flushing pipeline to maintain good lubrication.

    Leakage on the end face of the mechanical seal

    1. The end faces of the dynamic and static rings are uneven

    Treatment measures: Adjust the base of the moving ring to be perpendicular to the pump shaft; whether the static ring is installed in place.

    2. Impurities and solidified media are bonded so that the moving ring cannot float freely

    Treatment measures: Check the filter screen of the flushing pipe to prevent impurities from clogging the sealing element.

    3. The spring force is not enough, resulting in insufficient specific pressure

    Treatment measures: adjust the position of the moving ring base to increase the spring force.

    4. The end cover is not perpendicular to the shaft

    Remedy: Adjust the end cap to be perpendicular to the shaft.

    5. Poor floating of dynamic and static rings

    Treatment measures: Improve the elasticity of the sealing ring, and increase the gap between the dynamic and static rings and the pump shaft appropriately.

    Axial leakage of mechanical seal

    1. The seal ring is too loose or too tight with the shaft

    Treatment measures: choose the appropriate sealing ring to ensure the matching size.

    2. The material of the sealing ring is too soft, too hard or corrosion-resistant, and heat resistance is not good

    Treatment measures: select the appropriate seal ring material

    3. The sealing ring is curled and twisted during installation

    Treatment measures: The interference between the sealing ring and the shaft should be selected properly, and the installation should be careful.
