Hey LHS Kids is a science activities website for kids developed by the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley. Hey LHS Kids features some good activities for primary school students.
Just came across this post which has some great web-based resources for teaching languages, and links to an article outlining some important reasons for teaching a child a second language in the 21st century.

A nice tool that can be used for creating tests/quizzes online. Tests can be password protected so you have access to the results after anyone has completed the test. Does not require registration.
This is a pretty cool spelling activity, as the student clicks on the letters, different pictures appear on the page that begin with that letter (all kid-friendly!). As the student inserts more letters, the relevant images get larger if they are being spelt correctly.
Here is a review of the software which transcribes audio recordings in to text that we can use with the iPod Touches - sounds like it works quite well with a few quirks.
This blog entry includes links to sixteen of the best websites pertaining to internet safety for kids. Some are US-based, however, it provides a great starting point for those schools who are starting to tread cybersafety as a priority.
If you want to create word clouds in different shapes...this is the site to do it! I will explain more about it at next weeks IT session...It looks really cool.
