Conduit Mobile: Turn any website/blog/wiki into an app for any mobile device! - 1 views

  •
What it is: Want to see something really super cool? You can create your very own app for multiple mobile platforms in, I don't know, 7 minutes flat! Seriously. Conduit Mobile makes it incredibly easy to create your own app out of a blog, class website, wiki, etc. and publish it to share with others. It honestly could not be easier. Type in the URL you want turned into an app. Click go. Customize and tweak to your hearts desire and publish. That. Is. It. Holy cow it is easy! You all are going to look like super geniuses when you turn your classroom blogs/wikis/websites into mobile apps that parents and students can access easily from anywhere. Better yet- turn your school website into a mobile app and then you will be super genius of the school. That is an impressive title. Once your app is published, you have the ability to send push notifications to your app users (field trip reminders anyone?). You can also easily track the analytics of who is using your app.

Studyladder, online english literacy & mathematics. Kids activity games, worksheets and... - 0 views

  •
I am a big fan of StudyLadder. Many of our teachers in elementary and the middle school are utilizing this excellent resource. It is a multi-subject interactive site that allows you to differentiate for all levels of students through grade six. With the ability to import entire class lists, you can set up individualized, interactive work for your students. What I especially appreciate about this site is the color coded leveling. While teachers are shown which color represents which grade level, the students are not. In addition, StudyLadder is Common Core aligned.

eQuizShow is a free tool developed by a junior high school teacher in New York City, Henry Wilson. Henry designed eQuizShow to be a tool that teachers can use to create Jeopardy-style games online. Unlike similar tools you do not have to download or upload any PowerPoint files to use eQuizShow. On eQuizShow you can build and display your quiz completely online. To build your quiz just enter a title, an administrative password, and your question categories. eQuizShow will then generate a grid on which you can enter questions and answers. If you don't have time to build a quiz or you just need some inspiration, browse the eQuizShow gallery.

  •
"It seems like you can't open an education periodical these days without finding an article espousing the wonders of flipping the classroom. Like most initiatives in schools, flipping the classroom does have merit in the right situation. But also like most initiatives it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. Here are three questions that I have to ask before flipping a classroom."

Why Before School Is The Perfect Time To Build Rapport - Smart Classroom Management - 0 views

  •
Five minutes. That's all it takes to improve your relationship with your students. And why is that important? Because having rapport with students translates to powerful and behavior-influencing leverage-the kind of leverage that compels them to want to behave, to want to do well, and to want to please you. And those few minutes before the morning bell are perfect for improving relationships, perfect for building a natural, trusting bond between you. But you have to get up from your desk to do it.
