fancy cbg on 05 Oct 13The move comes after leisure travel to Australia has been on an upswing in recent months with a consistent increase in the number of Indian travellers. There were 10,900 visitors from India during July 2013, bringing the total for the first seven months of the year to 95,900. This is an increase of 6.3 per cent when compared to the number of passengers in the same period in the previous year. Leisure arrivals during this period increased by 15 per cent. Azahar Hamid, regional sales vice-president, South Asia and Middle East, Malaysia Airlines, said, "India has always been a major source market and Malaysia Airlines keeps introducing new promotional fares and value added service, be it new Indian menu or onboard entertainment or increased baggage allowance . We provide seamless connections from six Indian cities to Australia via Kuala Lumpur."
