This site is managed by the Australian National University and provides biographical information on important Australians. It is sometimes very adult language but may be a good place to start your research. It also provides ideas of other references.

This site is provided by the National Library of Australia who are digitising most of Australia's newspapers. Type in the name of the person you are researching to see if there are any newspaper articles about them. Hopefully you will find reports from the time they were alive (a contemporary source). Be careful! - there may be too many articles. Your job will be to use the titles to decide which articles might be the most relevant to your research.
