Magic Inflating Conversation Hearts - 1 views

This experiment is similar to the classic baking soda and vinegar. When you put a balloon on top of a water bottle that contains aka seltzer and water, the reaction bubbles form, they have nowhere to go and it fills up the balloon with carbon dioxide gas, inflating the balloon and showing the heart message. To use this in a classroom, I would have my students write down what they think is going to happen to the balloon and to the reaction. We could also try this experiment with a different type of liquid like sprite and see what happens.
