I believe that hip hop dedicated emcee Nas
raised the debate. Now it is actually up to us to answer yes or no to this
    interrogation.

Having said that, I believe it will be
senseless simply to debate on whether hip hop is dead or not. Our answers needs
to be full of nuance instead of being blinded with a widespread artistic blur.

Because its creation in the Bronx, NYC, inside the late 6O's, hip hop
has often been within a 911 emergency state. Genuine, authentic hip hop emerged
from the street, mostly in the black commnunity and was aimed prior at street
audiences. Though a prevalent misconception that hip hop is about self
expression only is broadly accepted, this point is often completely
    misunderstood.

You will be hip hop, not merely by proving your emceeing
abilities, but by carrying the heritage of hip hop culture with you which
suggests to me, that, regardless of your skin colour, you can relate to hip hop
culture in a single way or yet another. That is getting hip hop to me.
