With a bit of imagination and some basic crafting tools you can take your leftover bows and ribbons and make stylish and cute accents for your next party or decorate your home. You will need a hot glue gun and double stick tape to get started. Now go to your junk draw and pull out those bows and ribbons to get started.

    * For your next party why not craft some cute flags for cupcakes? This is a really cute way to use your leftover ribbon. Simply cut ribbon into 2 inch long pieces, hot glue them onto a toothpicks, and then trim into a flag shape when dry. You can also embellish the flags with some glitter, gems, small flowers, or draw a design onto the flags for your favorite team.
    * You can also spruce up your home's décor with ribbons. Use double stick tape or hot glue to apply ribbon to lamp shades, the edges of shelves, picture frames, pillows, or anything in your home that needs a bit of an update and style lift.
    * Make homemade garland that you can reuse and will become a keepsake for family gatherings. Cut a piece of ribbon for the main length of the garland and then cut triangles to form the garland decoration. Fold the edge of the triangles over the length of ribbon and secure them with hot glue.

If you are having a dinner party or any other sort of festivities and would like to know a fast, cheap and easy way to make a centerpiece then you are in luck because that's what we are talking about today.

For this project you will need ribbons of multiple colors, scissors, 3 glass vases of varying heights and three floral LED lights.

The ribbon should not be of too wide of a width….maybe ¼ inch wide.

Begin with one color of the ribbon and cut it into two foot lengths all the way to the end of the spool. Repeat with the other colors.

Now take your scissors and curl the ends of the ribbons by pulling the ribbon between your finger and the edge of the scissors.

Tie five or six of the ribbon ends together and repeat until all of the ribbons are now in groups.

Place the battery pack for the LED lights in the bottom of each vase and then fill the vases about halfway with the curling ribbon. Wind the LED lights through this ribbon.

Divide the rest of the ribbons into three groups, one for each vase.

Place the tied ends of the ribbons into each vase and then arrange it so the curling ribbons cascade all around and down the length of the vases.

Once you have that done just arrange the vases on your table and you will have a centerpiece that others will envy.

Whether you have plain curtains or special fabric based, adding ribbons to them will bring out a new and sumptuous look to the curtains. The material varieties present along with the colors and the designs available make it easy to customize the curtains according to the décor or your taste.

Rendering a Rich Look with Tiebacks

Tiebacks with ribbon varieties bring on an immediate makeover for your curtains. The least requirement you need is having sufficient ribbon length that can loop around the curtain on each side making it easy to tie it to the window frame. To get a more luxurious look, you can add holdbacks which are hardware that fix to the window frame or the wall.

There are different and exquisite shaped holdbacks that give an exotic look when teamed with matching ribbon color and texture. The tieback is linked to the holdback or a hook that is fixed on the window frame when you tie it from its center portion.

    Making Stunning Streamers

You can have ribbons hanging down from a curtain rod present above the curtain making way for a type of decoration where you need not sew. A basic half knot fixes the fabric to the rod or you can also tie them like you do with a man's tie. This makes them look like a valance or upper curtain that lies over the lower one.

You can also use ribbon streamers hanging down the full length up to the hem of the curtain below or even further. But if you have pets or smaller kids at home, the length should be adjusted accordingly to prevent the curtains getting damaged. Whether you prefer sewing or like to stay away as far from sewing as possible, ribbons inclusions can be blended with your existing curtains in many aesthetically pleasing ways that add color, texture, and luxurious look to your home.
