For my next revision to the Cheapest Games series , I wanted to revisit the Sega Saturn. The values of the popular Saturn games have increased significantly over the last few years - especially for complete copies of the game.  Because of this, I've bumped up my criteria for the list to games that are under $25.   Now keep in mind, the prices quoted below are for complete copies of the game in excellent condition.  If you want to save a lot of money, you can usually find disc-only versions of the games.

A couple of years ago I wrote up a piece called Closing Time which examined the last official releases for popular game consoles, and some no-so-popular ones too. Earlier this year I finally got around to adding a Game Boy Advance entry. Yeah it had been over a year since the last game was released but I just kept hoping one more title would sneak out. If another game had been released after July 31st 2008 then the Game Boy namesake would have made it 20 years. Now of course this wasn't one single system that lasted 20 years, three distinct systems were tagged "Game Boy" over this span. Most of the longevity can be credited to the original B&W model which had a shelf life of just over a decade. I bet that little guy had the longest lifespan of any game system... well, did it?

Like all video games the sports games continue to improve. Real players, better graphics, longer and more in depth franchise modes, etc. Even though sports video games get better and better there will always be something special about the NES sports games. The sports video games on the NES were classic and are still fun to play today. These were the 10 best sports games on the NES.

The Nintendo 64 is possibly the most popular videogame console ever made. Some of the best games were created for this system, and surely some of the best videogame hours have been spent playing these games. I received an N64 for my 11th birthday, and I immediately fell in love with it. I played a lot of games on that system, but I wanted to know if my favorite games were anyone else's favorite games. I did a little research, and using the user ratings and, of course, my own opinions, I think I have selected a great list of the top 10 best games ever made for the Nintendo 64.

With Science Fiction television and movies being so popular with the younger age bracket, it is of no surprise that such source material became popular fodder for video game productions. Arcades is where many of the great video games first emerged. This was particularly the case in the '80s, when consoles were more limited. I realized the other day that I've finally read my last "Best 10 arcade games of all time" list. They're very limited, and they tend to have the same games, listed over and over. Usually I don't agree with the choices, either. The games that I've been most passionate about over the years are generally ones that don't make it onto such lists. So here, without further ado, is an off-the-cuff list of the Best Arcade Games Ever. These are the games that, had I room, I would purchase and rebuild for a home arcade, as I wouldn't get tired of playing any of them.

I remember my first video game experience - camped out in front of my best friend's Nintendo playing Megaman 3 while he played. It was something that absolutely dazzled my mind, and several years later for Christmas, my parents bought my brother and me a Nintendo 64 - complete with Mario 64. The experience of a long-time gamer was just getting started, and as the years passed by I collected a plethora of games that were kept on my shelf as my 'favorites'. They range through age, system, and even rating. However, if you're a girl looking for a game, or you know a girl who may be looking for a game, I have compiled my favorite games from mostly the Adventure and Role Playing Game (RPG) Genre.

From the mono color, clunky graphics of Pong to the full motion rendered videos of Final Fantasy XIII, video games have changed drastically in the almost 40 years they have been around. What once could only be found in a six foot tall box in an arcade now can be played on phones the size of a credit card. As games have changed, so has the industry, and many of the major changes have been spurred by specific, influential games. Presented below are the ten games that had the greatest impact on the gaming industry and continue to influence gaming to this day.

I've been doing a series of articles counting down the top 10 selling video games on each video game console. I've only been taking into account video games that sold over 1 million copies because it's easiest to find information on those video games. Unfortunately the Sega Genesis only had nine games sell over 1 million copies so this list will have to be a Top 9 highest selling Sega Genesis games.

When the Super Nintendo video game system was on the market, battling it out with the Sega Genesis system, I owned a Sega. However, I had friends who owned the Super NES and from time to time would play it. Comprising a very long list of Super NES games would be difficult for me, but I can list the three that I remember the most. On the Sega Genesis I enjoyed a variety of game styles, but most of my friends were into fighting games. So, when I was watching other people play the Super Nintendo it tended to be one of the Mortal Combat games getting shown off. Below are the top three games I enjoyed playing myself.

When you add a console to your collection, the first thing you want to do is get a handful of games to keep you busy with your new toy. However, most of us can't spend afford to spend fat pile of cash for a few games. This budget-friendly list should help you quickly find which games will start you off well without emptying your wallet.   Since the SNES is quickly growing with nostolgic collectors, it's getting harder to find real values in the SNES market.   However, as long as you don't mind skipping the harder-to-find cardboard boxes for the games, you can find these classics for $10 or less.  (Prices listed are an average eBay price for US cartridge-only games, including shipping)

A competent repackaging of a 1999 PlayStation compilation, with a lovely 50% extra thrown in (adding up to a total of 15 games, instead of the PSOne's 10), Classics charts the early years at Konami ranging from 1982's Scramble to 1987's Contra (or Gryzor). The package contains all the usual extras such as information on the games, pictures of the game board and scans of the control sheets to ensure you know how to play. As some of the games are vertical and others horizontal, it's possible to choose from various orientations and multiplayer options on some games which, from a single cartridge, is a nice feature. But with any retro collection, we're only really interested in two questions: Are the classic games we really want included, and do they still play well today? One of the most popular sections in my video game newsletter, Retrogaming Times is the MAME Reviews.  Each month, I would choose two or more games and review them.  Over the years, I received alot of requests to review certain games.  Well, the newsletter has been around for a long time (nearing 30 issues at the time of writing this) and it is quite time consuming to go through all the issues to read the game reviews.  So, I decided to compile all of them here.  This way, you can easily read all of them, quickly and easily.  Plus, I hope to add some new reviews here of games that weren't originally reviewed in Retrogaming Times.  So enjoy the reviews and let me know what games you would like to see covered!

Magnavox started the video game revolution in 1972 with the release of the Odyssey, the world's first home video game system. For the next five years, the company released a number of standalone consoles in the Odyssey line, giving them numerical suffixes like Odyssey 100, Odyssey 400, and so on. Finally, in 1977, Magnavox signaled a new generation of Odyssey by announcing the Odyssey², a dedicated unit that was to contain 24 games and accommodate four simultaneous players. However, the bottom was quickly dropping out of the over-saturated dedicated console market, and Magnavox scrapped the 24-game Odyssey² in favor of an expandable cartridge-based model. The company released it in 1978, touting it as "The Ultimate Computer Video Game System."

Ever since Space Invaders first came out for the Atari 2600, popular arcade games have found their way to virtually every game console on the market. As such it creates an interesting look at the transition from arcade to console. It is without question that the arcade versions of the games themselves are superior - whether graphically or audibly or even with the way it controls. Naturally modern systems are able to recreate classic games without any trouble but we still enjoy the games on the original hardware anyways.

Welcome to World of game Mids, collection of game music in MIDI format. Midi format was very popular in PC games especially within years 1991-1996, so this site would enjoy every fan of PC game music (or PC game mids) from these years.

It's pretty easy to find a list of "The Top 10 Dreamcast Games" or some similar ranking, but most of them were written back when the console was still on the retail scene and almost all of them only compare the games against other Dreamcast games. This is all fine if the Dreamcast is the only console you own and ever plan to own. However, I know for a fact that most Dreamcast owners now are hardcore retro fans that happen to own a few different consoles - both old and new. There may also be a few gamers out there wondering if they should bother adding a Dreamcast to their collection. Because of this, I thought it would be a good idea to develop a list of games that are still relevant in today's gaming market because of their unique gameplay that has not been improved upon on other consoles.

Everyone has their favourite Neo games, be it more popular games like Metal Slug and King of Fighters, to the slightly more obscure or unknown games like Waku Waku 7, Ninja Masters, Aggressors of Dark Kombat, and many, many more. Talk to anyone and they will all tell you very different things about what the best Neo games are, but seeing as this is my site I thought I'd throw up a list of my own personal faves, which might be helpful as a starting point for newcomers to the Neo Geo scene. This isn't meant to be a definitive list of the best Neo Geo games ever or anything like that, it's just my personal recommendations for games that I believe you can't afford to miss.

Typically, my Cheapest Games Worth Your Time series looks for games that are $10 or less, but with the Neo-Geo, that just isn't an option. This 24-bit powerhouse has always been for only the most financially-blessed gamers with both the system and games retailing for hundreds of dollars each. With a hardcore following and a very limited supply of games, many game prices are still much more than most retro gamers are used to paying for a single title. Because of this, my "Cheap" Neo-Geo list will be rather short and I'll have to adjust my price targets as well.
