Books and articles are listed on two general pages in chronological order, and are also classified under fifteen themes. The articles are downloadable - apart from a few cases where I no longer have a copy (please get in touch if you can supply copy for these missing links)."

Deux idées pour emmerder Faismesdevoirs.com - Les commentaires - prof-ondefatigue sur LePost.fr - 0 views

Première idée, suggérée par Antigravity: postuler chez eux et rendre des copies pleines de fautes; de toute façon le système est tellement basé sur l'urgence que rien ne serait vérifié. Deuxième idée, de moi, mais d'autres ont déjà dû y penser: faire une cagnotte entre collègues et leur envoyer une suite de sujets qui tuent, des trucs impossibles à faire.

The lingro browser tools (bookmarklets) allow you to open any site you're viewing using lingro with one click. Once you have copied the bookmarklet to your browser, click it when you're on a page you want to view with lingro. (The bookmarklet doesn't work for sites that require you to log in, such as webmail. We're working on a way around this - stay tuned!)

If you want to learn how to learn English vocabulary, you need to know which words to learn.\nIf you are a teacher, you also need to know which words your students need to learn.\nCambridge English Lexicon was first published in 1980, and the fifth printing was in 1991. There might have been further printings, but it seems to be out of print now.\nTHE GOOD NEWS is that Amazon does have a few second hand copies available at very cheap prices, so get in quick if you want to buy one of these rare gems!

Are you ready to play five card flickr? - 5 views

Five Card Flickr "This quasi experimental web site is designed to foster visual thinking. It is based completely, or more loosely... copied, from the Five Card Nancy game devised by comics guru Scott McCloud and the nifty web version at 741.5 Comics. However, rather than drawing from a hand of randomly chosen panels of the nancy comic, my version draws upon collections of photos. You are dealt five random photos for each draw, and your task is to select one each time to add to a selextion of images, that taken together as a final set of 5 images- tell a story in pictures. When you are done, you the option to save the story so you can put a link in your resume or send to your Mom (she pay print it out and tape it to the fridge, or she may criticize your creativity, your mileage and mom may vary)."

""Lab pe aati hai dua" ("Chlid's prayer"), on a poem by Allama Iqbal, the great Urdu and Persian poet (1977-1938 - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Iqbal ). It is sung here by Siza Roy and a chorus of school children, Label: Saregama Distribution: The Orchard - see http://www.theorchard.com/dist/releaseInfo.php?upc=829410800501. Thanks to the Orchard for having removed the ads that were first automatically added to this video. NOTE I don't know Urdu, so I copied the words from "dua (prayer) - Lab pe aati hai dua... " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvBd_F-Fn3w . one of the several open-captioned videos on this poem. Then I used them to produce the dynamic subtitles in Open Captioning with TunePrompter (Mac version: http://tuneprompter.en.softonic.com/mac ). Exporting the video produced the credits in the first seconds of the video."

Book: Vocabulary Ninja: Mastering Vocabulary by @MrJenningsA via @BloomsburyEd - 2 views

  •
"Building a rich vocabulary, across the curriculum, is one of the main aims for most teachers. Not only does a rich vocabulary help to create strong writing skills, but also can help with improving access to all areas of the curriculum. In his book, Andrew Jennings explains why vocabulary should be a focus in your classroom, providing resources and inspiration to help optimise vocabulary learning. Resources include a focus on SPaG facts, key vocab words that support various popular primary topics, an etymology section to inspire pupils, and looking at various grammatical features that can help build a repertoire of rich vocabulary. Throughout, the book provides other resources that can be copied for classroom use, or be used to take home to help build vocabulary skills away from the school setting."
