How many times have I heard someone say, "I would love to learn another language." But next to none of those I have heard make such a statement are doing anything about it. A quote I recently came across explains why I think: "If you are interested, you will do what is convenient. If you are committed, you will do whatever it takes." The reality is that many are interested in language learning, but few are committed. While this may seem like an end all statement of doom, there is hope. You we all have at one time or another been interested in something to which we later became committed. The key then to helping interested language learners become committed language learners is providing convenient steps toward learning another language that will at the same time move learners from merely interested in learning to the place of being committed to doing whatever it takes to learn. That is what I have tried to create in the Ten Week Journey at my website - The Everyday Language Learner. If you or someone you know has always wanted to learn another language, but never gotten around to it, the Ten Week Journey is for you.
