Prepared by Lindsay Vogt, Anthropology Graduate Student, UCSB in collaboration with Brian Mathews, UCSB Library. They interviewed 25 grad students across five disciplines and 20 additional students. One of their guiding principles was to follow the transition from student to scholar and to chronicle the steps and developments along the way.

For the last two days I have been at this conference, organised by the Institute for Communication Studies at the University of Leeds. I was there to present a paper setting out how we are using ethnography as a research method for the study of community archives.

We don't have this book at Rice, but it looks like a good introduction to ethnographic research for the student and novice fieldworker.
