The foreclosure crisis did not stop luxury home buyers from trekking to California to secure deals. Sales of luxury houses in some markets remain strong.

Filings for foreclosure home listings declined in 2010 in Staten Island compared with 2009. But the drop does not mean that the housing crisis is over.

Most areas of California experienced further growth in lists of government foreclosures and bank foreclosure numbers last year. Even areas like Tuolumne and Calaveras were not spared from the crisis.

Listings of foreclosure homes continued to hammer housing prices down in the fourth quarter of last year. The drop in prices led to more underwater mortgages.

Freddie Mac homes and foreclosure numbers may rise in New York City in the coming years. Some analysts stated that the crisis hit the city later than others.

The number of new houses sold in the U.S. in November was less than what economists predicted. According to analysts, unemployment and the presence of listings of bank-owned homes affected the result.

In Detroit, sales of properties in foreclosure auction listings are being held back by appraisal laws. Agents have complained that appraisals are too low.

Bank owned REO listings and foreclosures remain the biggest problem for some areas of Indiana. While other indicators are improving, housing is still declining.

As the foreclosure crisis rages on, more foreclosed commercial and residential properties are being added to the state's growing list of repossessed properties. Unfortunately, no one is immune from such pitiful situation.

Real estate brokers in Seattle are just starting to find out how hard it is to sell in a foreclosure-riddled market. They felt the crisis later than others.

Invest homes activities were fewer in Indianapolis in January 2011 as sales of residential properties decline. Existing dwelling sales dropped by almost 3%.
