  This technique is used for determining that the intended users of a system will be able to perform the intended task effectively and satisfactorily. Usability testing it is carried out pre-release so that any significant issues identified can be addressed. It can be carried out at any stages of the design process. Usability testing is not a substitute for a human centered design process.
