  •
"When we talk about building an on demand delivery app clone, we're often talking about building an app like Uber or Airbnb. Two major decacorns (companies worth $10 billion or more), Uber and Airbnb are worth billions of dollars. To be more precise, Uber was valued at $72 billion and Airbnb at $29.3 billion as of August 2018. Uber is available in more than 65 countries and over 600 cities. Every day, nearly two million people rent accommodation through Airbnb. What's so great about these two companies that makes so many people regularly use their applications and makes entrepreneurs want to copy them? We're in this article to talk about the philosophy behind an Uber- or Airbnb-like on-demand delivery service app."

PyInstaller - 0 views

  • PyInstaller is a program that converts (packages) Python programs into stand-alone executables, under Windows, Linux and Irix. Its main advantages over similar tools are that PyInstaller works with any version of Python since 1.5, it builds smaller executables thanks to transparent compression, it is multi-platform (so you can build one-file binaries also under Linux), and use the OS support to load the dynamic libraries, thus ensuring full compatibility. PyInstaller is an effort to rescue, maintain and further develop Gordon McMillan's Python Installer (now PyInstaller). Their official website is not longer available and the original package is not longer maintained. Believing that it is still far superior to py2exe, we have setup this site to continue its further development. Feel free to join us in the effort! Please consult our Roadmap to check our plans. Also usage reports are welcomed: let us know if PyInstaller works for you and how, or what problems you found in using it.

Twitter from the command line in Python using OAuth - 6 views

  •
Configuring an app to use OAuth properly requires a bit of legwork. My goal with this post is to save people some time by showing the complete step-by-step process of building a Python script that can tweet from the command line using OAuth. I've intentionally skipped over the details of how OAuth works and what all the different authentication tokens mean. This post is just about getting things done.

pymel - Google Code - 0 views

  • Python in Maya Done RightPymel makes python scripting with Maya work the way it should. Maya's command module is a direct translation of mel commands into python commands. The result is a very awkward and unpythonic syntax which does not take advantage of python's strengths -- particulary, a flexible, object-oriented design. Pymel builds on the cmds module by organizing many of its commands into a class hierarchy, and by customizing them to operate in a more succinct and intuitive way. Powerful new classes

Command line programs are classes, too! - 0 views

  • I hope this article encourages you to think about your command line programs in a different light, and to treat them as first class objects. Using inheritance to share code is so common in other areas of development that it is hardly given a second thought in most cases. As has been shown with the SQLiteAppBase programs, the same technique can be just as powerful when applied to building command line programs, saving development time and testing effort as a result. CommandLineApp has been used as the foundation for dozens of types of programs, and could be just what you need the next time you have to write a new command line program.
