Tom Barrett is looking for some Australian Post Cards to be sent to his Year 5/6 Class in the UK for their unit on Australia. They might even send you one back! :-) 

This is a pretty cool spelling activity, as the student clicks on the letters, different pictures appear on the page that begin with that letter (all kid-friendly!). As the student inserts more letters, the relevant images get larger if they are being spelt correctly.

A slideshare presentation focussed on web research which is well worth viewing for any LT Coordinator . Has some great information and statistics on search, and how search-englines work. Also shares tools you can use for optimizing your search and saving your sources for later viewing.

The kids are really excited by the possibilities - my little girl is at OLHC kinder and came home telling me all about what they learned - check out the blog they have a solid research focus too

This site allows you to type in a search title eg John Howard and it will locate and collate a 'tubeline' on all the movies associated with the search title and place it on a time line.

Some great resources from a new blog i have just come across. The post outlines online & application based art applications and comments on each of the different sites. Well worth a look if you are looking at art on an IWB.

A website with ALOT of potential.... They aim to be a search engine for movies, by which you will be able to search for a particular scene/line from any movie and watch it online. Keep an eye on this one...

A US-Based resources regardin geducation on the hidden messages behind advertising. Well worth a look if you are doing a unit on advertising.

Hi Steve, it looks like its based on the old etherpad code, a great tool until you hit 15 users.

Mark, Even the interface is very similar. PiratePad (http://piratepad.net/) is another alternative Google have now included the EtherPad feature in its new version of google docs (It' still in preview and you need to tick a box in the document editing settngs). I'm yet to try it out with a class. Found that EtherPad also had issues with the 15 users. In a class I would often make more than one pad.

The Art Project powered by Google features interior tours of seventeen world famous art museums. Select a museum from the list on the homepage and you can virtually tour it using the same interface style you experience in Google Maps Streetview. Inside the museum just double click to zoom to a location. You can also open a floor plan overview and click on a room to navigate to that part of the museum.

This blog entry by the School Library Association of Victoria shares how Mooroopna Secondary College has been using Animoto to make book trailers, it also shares some hints on registering classes on the Animoto site to make videos. Could be useful for those who are participating in the Digital Literature Review Competition that is commencing soon! 

Here is a great review of a new PBS website which allows you to create a habitat based on the needs to a fictional  character. Once the students have finished creating the habitat, they could download it as a JPEG. Has some great tips on ways it could be useful in the classroom, too!

This website looks like a great resource for those teachers/classes looking to collaborate globally with classes/people on certain topics. When you create a profile on the site, you specify how you are interested in using Skype with your class, and then from there you can search for classes/people with similar interests to organise a video conference.

eLearningFuture provides comprehensive information about the design, development, deployment and evaluation of eLearning using today's and tomorrow's innovative emerging technologies. The site is quite academic but has some great articles especially the current ones on Virtual World learning

An excellent presentation on wikis & writing and how they can be used to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. Also shares some meaningful stats regarding language development, explains and gives examples on web 1.0 & 2.0 tools and social media.
