Teacher centered technologies do not transform education! - 1 to 1 Schools - 3 views

Poses some questions to think about when planning all technology purchases for your school. Especially relevant to IWBs. The linked articles are also worth a look. One presents a very anti-IWB viewpoint however it does present some interesting ideas that may be worth considering when trying to ensure the success of you technology program.

Exploratree is a great site for educators to use for creating mind maps or brainstorming. This is an easy site to use that allows for group collaboration and comments as well. Best of all, Exploratree has a number of different templates to choose from to find the right "mind map" for you.

Linda Gibson-Langford - 1 views

  • This brings us to a few questions. How do we interpret our pedagogy in a dynamic educational setting that is truly anywhere, any time, any place and any mode? How do we present a powerful pedagogy that imparts knowledge and skills in such a dynamic environment and still teach with timetables, outcomes-based assessment and classes with a discrete teacher within a discrete classroom. Indeed, how do we visualise the classroom as an organic learning centre yet maintain traditional pedagogy that promotes 'pre-designed syllabi centered (sic) on a fixed course material to be covered' (Lopez 2005).

Skype in the classroom (beta) | Skype Education - 0 views

This website looks like a great resource for those teachers/classes looking to collaborate globally with classes/people on certain topics. When you create a profile on the site, you specify how you are interested in using Skype with your class, and then from there you can search for classes/people with similar interests to organise a video conference.
