We live just off of Quincy Center, near Franklin & Water Streets and did lots of looking in Quincy before settling down here a few months ago. We looked at other areas of Quincy, but chose our current apartment because there are 4 buses that go up School Street/Hancock Street to the T, so you're never waiting for a bus for more than a few minutes. Also, beware the inaccessibility of the area in between Quincy Center and Quincy Adams...we found an apartment we loved that was a tenth of a mile from the Quincy Adams T...except that Independence Ave runs right between the apartment and the Quincy Adams T and there is no way to cross over the highway, so you actually have to go ALL the way back to Quincy Center to get the T. Walking from where we are to Quincy Center is 7 minutes, Star Market is about 5 minutes away and Home Depot is one T stop away at Quincy Adams. We really love the area
