Use Black Hole Math as a classroom challenge activity, an assessment tool or an enrichment activity. The problems in this booklet investigate black hole science and mathematics concepts including parts of a simple black hole and calculating gravitational potential energy.

    Remember that there are some important typos in this document! For problem page 1, they give the mass of the Earth incorrectly (it says 5.7 x 10^24 in one place). For problem page 2, they don't provide the radius of the Earth, and the answer to problem 7 is 0.0132 m, not 0.17 m. This suggests there are likely other typos, but we didn't check beyond problem page 2.
