Write and publish at least one blog post each week. Choose from the four types of posts below. Read and respond to two other blog posts each week by adding comments.

Reflect and Connect	Wonder	Investigate	Express
Make connections between something you are reading and experiences in your own life or the world around you.	Ask questions about something in an article and guess what the answers might be.	Describe similarities between an article you select and other books you have read and explain why you think they occur.	Make connections between something you are reading in your Storyworks article and another post on the class blog.

Scoring: Blog posts will be worth 10 points each. The following rubric will be used to grade blog posts.

Blog Posting	4	3	2	1
Titled, tagged, and categorized	Post contains all three requirements.	Post contains 2 of the 3 requirements.	Post contains 1 of the 3 requirements.
Complete sentences	All sentences are written in complete sentences.	Most sentences are written in complete sentences.	Few sentences are written in complete sentences.	Little or no sentences are written in complete sentences.
Appropriate content:Reflect & Connect / Wonder / Investigate / Express	Contents of the post fits into one of the four types of posts.	Contents of the post mostly fit into one of the four types of posts.	Contents of the post somewhat fit into one of the four types of posts.	Contents of the post do not fit into one of the four types of posts.
Grammar	All sentences show correct grammar usage.	Most sentences show correct grammar usage.	Few sentences show correct grammar usage.	Little or no sentences show correct grammar usage.
Quality	Post is at least 5 sentences that are organized and show insight.	Post is 4-3 sentences that are organized and show insight.	Post is 2 sentences that are organized and show insight.	Post is only 1 sentence and shows insight.
