Small Business Ethics - 1 views

  •
Should small businesses keep tabs on their employees more so than a large business would?
  •
I can see the interwined relationship between honesty, integrity and respect in the small business world and the Fortune 500 comapanies. But the reason that their might be less respect, honesty, and integrity in the small business world is because the people that can't make it into the big business world is because they are lacking the essential needs to be included in the big jobs, big time bucks.

Job Seekers - 1 views

  •
This article is about businesses having a hard time acquiring loyal employees who are looking for quick wealth.
  •
There is always going to be people that search for other jobs because they think they can do better, etc. money, health benefits, better working environment. As the article says, people leave to seek higher pay in the short run but in the longer run they could've been making more in the future with their first job. I would say to keep employees searching for better pay in their job, maybe the owner could have an amazing employee getaway convention or to simply raise their pay a bit, if reasonable of course.

Office Romances - 2 views

  •
Discusses the ethics behind allowing office romances
  •
I think that if a couple is flirting too much and other workers are noticing it and their fling is interrupting their work, than I would say something has to be done to keep work efficient and to have no distractions. But, if a couple is married and they do not distract anyone than I think that the office relationship is okay. As long as the office romance doesn't take time away from others and the romancers themselves are keeping up with their work, than everything is okay.

Time Theft - 0 views

  •
I see this almost every lunch break I take with my co-workers. There is always someone in the group that wants an extra 10 or 30 minutes more added to their breaks. I think this dilemma will always occur due to people's attitudes and their work ethic during the work day. Maybe an added incentive will cause the person to change their time of work breaks to lesser time but some will always want an extra minute or two.
