The Electricity Supply Monitoring Initiative (ESMI) as an effort by Prayas (Energy Group) to empower ordinary consumers to monitor electricity supply quality, i.e. supply interruptions and voltage profile, at the consumer end. Under this initiative specially developed data loggers, which are installed at different locations in an area, record voltage as well as supply interruptions. This is a tool for consumers and regulators to get an idea of the ground reality and to increase the accountability of electricity utilities.
