KARACHI: As many as five political workers have been arrested during a raid by the personnel of paramilitary force in Karachi area of Liaquatabad in Friday's wee hours. The rangers continued their targeted operation in different parts of the metropolis and arrested overnight five people hailing from a political party near Sindhi Hotel's Arshi Chowk area of Liaquatabad.
Muslim legislator, Engineer Rashid, who was thrashed on Thursday by two BJP MLAs for hosting a beef party, staged a protest here on Friday and along with his supporters outside Jammu and Kashmir Legislature Assembly complex. Police detained many of Rashid's supporters. Watch this report.
BRATISLAVA: Thousands of people joined anti-migrant protests in three eastern European capitals on Saturday after leaders from the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia opposed an EU scheme to fix refugee quotas. In the Polish capital Warsaw, nearly 5,000 people, many chanting anti-Islamic slogans, marched through the city, an AFP correspondent said.
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan army says that at least 123 people have died from a powerful earthquake which has rattled many parts of Pakistan today (Monday). In a press statement on social media, DG ISPR Let-Gen Asim Bajwa said that Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif flew to some affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to assess the rescue operation.
