DISLIKES... - The Autoplay Music: with other running media, it became really distracting & i became more focused on looking for a way to turn it off. Could potentially make a person exit the website - More Descriptive Home: unlike other online portfolios, they usually state "portfolio" or "photography" or something, just to give an indicator as to what the website is. For his portfolio, there is no such description which would be nice to see - Details?: navigating through his site, his work is categorized, however there are not descriptions as to what the "advertising" was for. Even something as simple as "Canadian Hockey Nike Campaign" would have been nice. - About Him: It would have been nice to know a little bit about him (hometown or even the type of work he does) - No Back: Once you click somewhere, there's no real going back. LIKES... - Black & White: gave a sophistication to where I could see some sort of aesthetic in Chris' work. - The Rollover Effect: navigating through the work, there are thumbnails that you rollover and change opacity & starts to zoom out. I thought that was a really interesting effect that made me want to see more of the photo - Simplicity: his portfolio is really simple, which I find pleasing because it's easy to navigate & doesn't have clutter to distract from his photos - Music Choice: although I found the music distracting, his selection created a nice ambiance to his portfolio & created a "personality" to where I could start to get a feel as to who he was. - Use of Nav Buttons: I like how you can instantly flip through photos

Likes: -The way "Lyndon Wade," and the images come out when entering the website. -The layout that is so simple, such as five images on dark gray background. -The font "Lyndon Wade" _When you go to the portfolio page, you will be able to see thumbnails at first. Dislikes: -When you enter the website, pop-up will come up. -Your internet browser will expand when you try to go to the website. -The scheme, orange and black, is little bit strange to me.

Likes: -the strongest contrast: black and white background -nice fonts that is easy to catch those words up on the website -he puts pages, archives, categories, and meta, other than menu -the idea of putting a search engine in order to enable viewers to search their interesting thing. Dislikes: -the layout is little bit too simple, could be more dynamic. -it seems that he can use empty space more efficiently.

Likes: 1. Because the site takes a while to load, the "Loading..." image you see is an illustrated heart beating, and it's really interesting to look at while you wait. 2. Content is all listed on left--easy navigation 3. Color scheme is very attractive, and still works well with content. Dislikes: 1. Can't scroll using trackpad--you have to use the side bar 2. Content still takes a long time to load, even after waiting for the initial homepage to load as well. 3. It's hard to distinguish between the heads and subheads on the left--maybe bolding the heads would make them pop a little better?

In this portfolio it is mostly visual with very few words. This style of portfolio allows his work to do all of the talking. To me it was very powerful and bold. What I liked best about this portfolio: 1.It is quick and easy to navigate 2. The photos are captivating and large so you know what you are looking at 3. The landing page is clean, precise and different then others I've seen (it looks professional). 4. When you glide over the elongated photos of the works he has been involved in, large white titles show up to tell you right away what file you are about to open. Example: photo of the production Cinderella, hover your curser over the image and click! Now you have several more photos to look at, all on the production of Cinderella 5. The main menu is large and bold, always visible. 6. There is a small text that shows up "move your mouse over me" encouraging the host to explore and help navigate the site. 7. I like that there are current projects he is working on, he includes awards he has won and he has both a contact page and a resume (that you can download) My suggestions of changes this portfolio could have are: 1. It could use more text, all I see is the work, but where are his ideas and contributions (his experiences in this field?) 2. Does he draw his designs or make models, how does he work? 3. I did not see an about page-what is he like? 4. There is nothing too personal about him. For example: no picture. 5. Resume is all one size and same color of text, nothing jumps out at you. 6. His name and title could be larger (on each page). Because as you scroll down you loose his name and then you ask your self who's work am I looking at again, because this is good and I want him to work for me! (although all you have to do is scroll up or click on the back button to return to menu... there his name is prominently displayed again) Overall: It was very hard to find anything that this portfolio needs to change because I really like what James has done with

Likes: - Nice landing page. I think she kept it clean and simple and gives just the right amount of introductory information. - The loading bar is clean and understandable. - I like how her About Me page is simple, and doesn't have a huge essay explaining her life and past work. It makes her more relatable, which I think is hugely important when working with seniors. It's so draining when you click on an About Me for an artist and have to read a huge piece to find out who they are. - I like the way the colors change and menus pop up to make the whole thing super easy to navigate. It shows clearly how to get back and forth from different areas of the page. - I LOVE how she has a contact form right on her contact page. It eliminates the errors that can happen from copying and pasting an email address, etc. Dislikes -One thing I don't like is that when you click on the Fashion section, it takes you to a portion of her blog instead of a seperate page, and feels like updated. I would like to be taken to a page that shows a more cohesive collection of her fashion work, rather then having to click through blog posts. - Her senior website only has one image on the homepage. I would like to see a slideshow going through images on the homepage. - I think she needs more images in her senior galleries. She only has about 10 in each one, and I feel like its better to have around 20 to get a well rounded view of style. - Her logo at the top cuts into the faces of some of the people in her images, and completely takes the attention off of the image. - When you move the mouse off of what you have selected to look at, it disappears, which does make the navigation a little confusing.

Likes: 1. Majority of the page is pictures/videos of current works 2. Hover on the left side of page - hides/reveals which section you're in, but always has the "home page" button as an option. A creative way of navigating through the site, while maximizing space for visuals. 3. Has an easy "Pause/Play" option for all videos. 4. Simple, clean graphics and colors are still made interesting by their level of interaction and composition. 5. The optional view option on the right (has thumbnail pictures for each sub page) - is something different. 6. Hovering to the Left hides/reveals (don't need to click and wait for loads) Dislikes: 1. In the portfolios section, the reel starts playing automatically, with music. 2. The left and right view options can be a little confusing - some people might not know that each side contains the same info/pages. 3. Every visual aid is pretty much a reel with music - gives viewer little control of what they see and when they see it.

Pros Simple layout and things work well Enjoy the different backgrounds displayed on different links Like the simple title of PUSH Cons Don't know what they are trying to portray or what they are about A little too simple need more info and links Need to talk more about projects that have been done http://www.benarent.co.uk/portfolio Pros Like that it gives a description of the person Very in depth and many pictures of previous work Like the sketchbook idea Cons Simple Design, not very complex Would like if sketchbook flipped pages when you clicked on it Don't enjoy the same font throughout the entire website. http://www.josheyre.com/ Pros Like the scrolling images on the front page of the website Like that the contact brings you to google maps and also includes resume Same top page works well and it doesn't feel confusing to me. Cons Don't enjoy the bland background on every page Small links don't work well with design Home on top right blends in with the design of orange. http://amby.com/kimeldorf/sampler/ Pros Very simple and easy to navigate Glad that everything is in order of steps to take. Cons Too many PDFS that take you to separate windows Last updated in 1998 so very old fashioned Don't know what he does or what he's trying to tell us about himself http://design.ocell.net/ Pros Very simple and elegant Like the white and grey background and Title and text is very different and creative. Cons Too little work displayed Not very many links to click Don't know what he is trying to portray within the website

Logical horizontal navigation bar, wide range of work demonstrates abilities, Projects provide the right amount of information Slide show on home page flashes too fast, contact and downloads page too redundant, it takes too many clicks to get to the images of a project

Pros: 1.Has a very personal feel. 2.Gallery is easy, and every thumbnail doesn't change size with mouseover. 3.Friendly interface, not in any danger of being confusing. Cons: 1.Clicking on an image makes it awkwardly cover the rest of the page and you must use the back button to get out of it. 2.Automatic slideshow, moves fast with no pause button. 3.Typos/grammar mistakes.

Pros: 1-Individual pieces work well together to make a strong whole 2- Easy to navigate 3- Images large enough to see Cons: 1- Pieces are so similar that it hierarchy is nebulous 2- Sub organization would improve your discovery of pieces 3- Page can be busy with the highlighted piece.

Pros: 1-Very clean and straightforward 2- Each piece is given enough room to view without distraction 3- Easy to move back and forth Cons: 1- Minimal text is both a pro and a con as I'd like to know more about the artist and artist's concept 2- Home page with thumbnail of each project would be stronger, rather than being dropped in on a random image that may or may not stand alone as an intro piece 3- Font is fine.. I feel like another font might add a little more expression to each page

Likes: Consistent Background Easy Navigation Descriptions are personal and include customer feedback Dislikes: Under "Retouching & Photoshop" the before & after isn't immediately apparent. I thought the before was the after, and wasn't impressed with their retouching skills! Bottom navigation has featured projects, but I couldn't tell that right away The "services" tab lists services without example images, separately from the "retouching & photoshop" service WITH images, which gave me the impression that their only service was photoshop & retouching.
