Water have amazing life forms and here are some best underwater pictures which were taken during this year. These are the winner pictures of underwater photography contest 2013 which was hosted by University of Miami. Top photographers from 23 countries take part in the contest with more than 650 entries. Here are some winner images from the contest which are representing best underwater pictures of 2013.

The Dipper is a great bird to find around unpolluted waters. I happened to catch this one along the Metolius River. When these dippers blink their eyes it looks funky with the white feathers, turns their eyes white! These dippers have a extra eye lid to allow them to see underwater. Now that would be rather cool to do! It is said they have scales that close there nose when they go underwater where they get their food at. These are funny to watch, this one just stood there and really did not mind the intrusion. Fact is I walked away before this dipper went away. This dipper new it was safe.

In his latest adventure, Benjamin von Wong headed to Fiji where he tied down a model to photograph her underwater with the local sharks. While this might sound scary (and crazy), the terrible stereotypes depicting sharks as menacing and terrifying creatures are exactly what Ben hopes to change with these surreal images.

Far from perfect: The composition of the page itself needs work and having larger versions of the images available would be nice. But we do get to have fun watching the photographer emphasize the fact that this is both a forest and a marine environment, as he shoots his colorful (but not garish) images through the ripples.
