Central Oregon Field Burn. People were asking about my dragonfly photo, and how I was getting the bugs to stay still. Predators will wait for bugs or critters to run from the fire. This is the neighboring farm to the land our horses are on. This goes on every year! It is controlled and really it is either this, or chemicals.... I guess. For us with allergies it is not the best thing.
Connecting Dragonflies. I mentioned having photo's of mating dragonflies and how strange it looks in another photo. Well I am not a bug expert, but this looks pretty wild to me!!
I found this Mountain Chickadee watching the horses and I from one of the trees.
Several chickadee species are out, this one has the stripes.
They eat bugs and seeds and I find they are often with other birds.
Cute little guys!!
If you would like to hear what this bird sounds like there is a great voice capture at the " allaboutbirds.org " site.
When I seen all the activity going on on a thistle flower, well I had to get the action with my camera!
Thistle is a great attraction to all sorts of nectar eating bugs, butterflies are no different!
Some of these photographs are very busy, it was a active place!
Pine White Butterfly. These butterfly just happen to love yellow. This one has a hint of other colors in it so it must be a female. A pair showed up here yesterday.
The Social Butterfly. I was sitting in the truck minding my own, when this butterfly landed in front of me and stuck around long enough for a couple photographs. Than fluttered off.
