One thing to be assured of here in Oregon is, never know what you are going to see here!
I noticed this blue butterfly fluttering around, then oh my I noticed a whole lot more! I paid attention for these photographs to just one.
The site of so much blue was quite pretty. Sure the wild Lupine flowers are blue, but these were flying!!
So, what is a person who is armed with their trusty camera to do? Take photographs of course!
OHSRA stands for Oregon High School Rodeo Association.
We headed over to the rodeo a little late. We seen a little of the goat roping when I was looking for a place that I could get photographs.
When I seen all the activity going on on a thistle flower, well I had to get the action with my camera!
Thistle is a great attraction to all sorts of nectar eating bugs, butterflies are no different!
Some of these photographs are very busy, it was a active place!
I like watching the squirrels and the chipmunks.
This pair of Siskiyou Chipmunks was seen on our National Grasslands and we really do not see to many there.
When I seen that someone I new had some old trucks outside his shop, I just had to ask him for photographs.
Than he came to ask if I would photo for him his 1925 Chevy, heck ya!!
As some people know September is Pain awareness month.
Why on earth do I care about such a thing as this?
Because I am one of the thirty four million Americans (yes I said thirty four million), who suffer from chronic pain.
Living in Jefferson County Oregon one thing is true, we have fires.
We also have VERY good fire fighters here! Everyone gets in the act. Water is turned on, volunteers stop what they are doing and jump in their trucks and off they run to whatever fire happens to break out!
Friday I was not around for Guy announced Thursday night we are heading out in the morning and to make sure battery is charging and my camera bag is ready to go!!
The truck, the dogs everything was ready to go as I was still wiping sleep out of my eyes early Friday morning!
Got fish??
One of the places I keep up with is the Wildlife Images Rehabilitation & Eduction Center. They called out for help. They need to feed the wildlife that is at their facility. Their 501 information;
Meet the Sweat Bee. Rather pretty in color with the fluorescent green dont you think? The flower the Sweat Bee is feeding on is a wild Strawberry plant that just started growing on it's own. No doubt the seeds coming from the birds?
Meet our White Lily Flower that is part of our Lily patch.
Since Guy is home I asked him the name of this Lily to see if he could remember the name for everything has a name. Na he did not remember. We have had this blooming for several years now.
Never photographing these before. I was quite happy to find these high up in the Ochoco Mountains of Oregon.
We found a area of wildflowers blooming and stopping to photograph all the wildflowers in that spot, then thought we should head up to the higher elevation and did so on a narrow dirt road until we came to melting snow. This is where these were blooming along with some other wildflowers. Noticing a lot of elk and it looked like the horses use the area as a resting place. Wild horses in the Ochoco Mountains is a common thing.
Such impressive flowers!
