Lake Billy Chinook Oregon. These photographs were taken back in February of this year. I call this "the canyon". It is actually a lake. Read more at my blog.
This pair of Bald Eagles have been hanging around one of the lakes here for a couple weeks now.
Saturday we had snow again, which is not a huge surprise.
We took off in it and thought it was not a good idea to go down into the canyon so we headed in the direction of this lake.
This pair of Bald Eagles we both agreed they must of came down from the Cascade Mountains for the better fishing and all around prey on what I call the flats. Not sure what others around here call this area. I call it the flats for one can actually walk it.
I trekked out into the snow to capture these photographs.
The one that is on the left is keeping it's eyes on me, that one seams to be the dominant Bald Eagle and the first to fly. The other followed.
Bikini Skiing. Good way to get a tan. Lake Billy Chinook Oregon. We watched this women ski for a while. Our area is known for nature and outdoors. People come here to take advantage of our wide open spaces.
Our life's here consists of several things, hiking is a huge part of our life's.
Guy calls these "walks", long walks!
I admit I am not the fastest walker. To busy looking around I guess?
In May 2015, Your Shot member Yusri Salleh took his "first photo adventure," a ten-day trip to New Zealand, where he captured this image of the famed lone tree of Lake Wanaka. Setting the scene required some consideration. "When we arrived at the planned location, there were almost 30 photographers there!" writes Salleh. "The fog was too thick and the color was dull. A black-and-white image was the best option for the situation. I wanted the image to be moody, quietly [mysterious], and different."

Bald Eagle, Wild and Free As It Should Be. I found this eagle sitting high up on the hill in this tree watching down at the lake. I started to climb, stopping every other step or so to take shots. When I got to close, this bald eagle took flight, sorry to say in the other direction! The canyon is steep, so I made my way down to the truck where Guy and the dogs were waiting.
As we were down in the canyon (Lake Billy Chinook), I just happened to look up and found these mule deer spying on us.
When visitors leave the wildlife do not hide like they do when the visitors are here. They are more apt to show themselves.
They were funny for they were using the canyon rocks to hide behind! I captured the two who came out from the rocks to show themselves.
Just a photo.
The style of this church in Wisconsin is a very old one, going back to Scandinavia (esp. Norway), possibly having been based on the pre-Christian architecture of the region, given the antiquity of some of the remaining stavkirchen. This one, however, was built the inhabitants of an island in Lake Michigan that saw a large influx of immigrants from Norway, who would seem to have brought their culture with.
It is said to be a popular site for weddings.
Many people come here in good weather to camp, boat, fish on and on.
Many people do not get to see what we get to see in the winter.
We chose where we wanted to go, and headed out. We were told of some snow but the weather channel is not real pacific here. A little snow mixed in with rain. Ok whatever what is new??
Than we got down into the canyon..... Saturday it just dumped on us! Snow is no big deal, it is the black ice we worry about!!
More about my getting wildlife photography here in Oregon at my web site..... What we wont do to get that photo!!
