  Listening to the music of another culture is an incredibly beneficial to really understand the culture. It is also a great way to learn new words and to train the ear to understand French. Not only is it useful it is fun to listen to, it is not tedious and difficult as textbooks can be, and it challenges a part of the brain that is not often used.
